CNG Japan
A half-day CNG community meetup outside of Tokyo for practitioners working in and around Japan, with demos, conversation, and a social reception.
A half-day Cloud-Native Geospatial Forum (CNG) gathering outside of Tokyo in Yokohama, hosted at JAMSTEC’s Yokohama Institute for Earth Sciences (YES). This event is designed to bring the local CNG community together for an afternoon of demos, talks, and conversation. The intention of this event is for practitioners working in and around Japan to show off what they’re building, meet each other in person, and plug into the broader CNG network.
The event will be start at 1 PM and run into the evening, ending with a reception held at JAMSTEC’s Yokohama Institute for Earth Sciences (YES).
CNG Japan is the second stop on the 2026 CNG global event series: London, England (June 23), Yokohama, Japan (August 24), NYC, USA (September 24), CNG Forum 2026 at Snowbird, Utah, USA (October 6–9), and Zürich, Switzerland (October 29). It’s also deliberately timed for the day before the STAC Japan workshop at JAXA Tsukuba (August 25–27), so practitioners traveling internationally can hit both events on the same trip and continue on to FOSS4G 2026 in Hiroshima the following week.
Talks can be given in either English or Japanese. Japanese-language talks will have live English translation displayed on screen, and English-language talks will have Japanese translation displayed on screen.
This event is sponsored by Development Seed.
CNG Japan is part of the 2026 CNG global event series. Please write to hello@cloudnativegeo.org for information on sponsorship opportunities.
